Chapter 2: The Nameless Weaver

Chapter 2158 Words

Silas spent the night in the Guild Archives, searching through the ancient catalogs of the Loom. Every thread ever spun was recorded in the Great Ledger. But the velvet black thread was not listed. There were no records of a child born under its sign, no fate mapped to its course.

"It's a phantom thread," whispered Master Elena, the Guild Elder, when Silas showed it to her. Her old hands trembled as she touched the velvet fiber. "Legend says that once every century, the Loom spins a thread that does not belong to the world. A person born without a destiny, free from the pattern."

"Where are they?" Silas asked. "They are unseen by the Loom," Elena replied, looking out the window at the dark city. "They cannot be predicted, and they cannot be controlled. They are the anomalies. If the Guild Council finds out, they will destroy the thread—and the person attached to it—to preserve the Tapestry."
